- To install Jed on your Workbench Disk, just do the following:
-
- 1. Work only with a COPY OF YOUR WORKBENCH DISK!!!
- 2. Delete the files ED, and EDIT from your SYS:C directory.
- 3. Choose which version of The Jam Editor you are going to use.
- If you have 512k or better of memory, you in most cases use
- the file called SmallJED. If you are going to be working in
- VERY tight memory situations, use regular Jed. Once you have
- decided which one you are going to use, copy it and it's Icon
- to your workbench disk. ( I prefer to copy it to the SYS:
- directory, or SYS:C,but it will work in any directory). If you
- use SmallJED, you should rename it to JED for ease of use.
- 4. Copy the file called jed.help to your Workbench's SYS:C directory.
- THIS FILE MUST BE IN YOUR SYS:C DIRECTORY FOR JED TO FIND IT.
- 5. Jed is now installed on your workbench disk. If you want to use
- The Icon features of JED, your workbench disk MUST HAVE the file
- icon.library in it's SYS:LIBS directory. (this is normally the
- case)
-
- * If you want to print out the manual, just type the file called Docs
- to the printer.(I.E. copy Docs to prt:) or load the file called
- Manual.txt into Jed and print out just the parts that you want.
-
- Use it in Good Health,
-
- Dan.
